Property Information:
The Tamarack Lodge is a relatively new facility which has been in
operation as an outfitting and bed and breakfast resort since
1980. The facility is located at the 32 mile marker of the South
Fork Road. There are 150 acres with 3000 feet of South Fork of
the Yaak River flowing across the meadow. The deck allows views
from the chaise or the hot tub of deer grazing among the horses.
Elk can be seen at dusk, while owls swoop low in search of prey
in the high grasses. Scenic views continue from the expansive
windows in the dining room where family style gourmet meals are
served. As weather cools, conversations are warmed by the fire
from the two-story river rock fireplace.
Tamarack Lodge includes:
Main Lodge - approximately 9,500 square feet of living
space with furnishings.
Bunk House - approximately 1,200 square feet of living
space with furnishings.
Ditching, culverts, bridge, roadway system throughout the
acreage.
Sporting clay course.
1994 Chevrolet Suburban
Forest Service Priority Use Permit for fishing and
hunting.
The USDA Forest Service priority use permit on approximately 110
square miles serves two purposes: 1) To allow for professionally
guided grips and 2) By providing an area to assure non-residents
of guaranteed big game licenses. Fishing, upland game bird
hunting, water fowl hunting, mountain lion* hunting and black
bear* hunting tags can simply be purchase. The outfitter required
for the permit and for licenses need not be an owner, but merely
on the board. The permit can be transferred from Tamarack Lodge
Yaak Valley, Inc. to a qualified buyer who meets the approval of
the Three Rivers Ranger District. The use days available on the
permit are more than adequate.
The property is turn-key - down to the linens and flatwear. Some
areas to consider for further development include a runway across
the meadows, (There is excellent approach and departure as well
as 3000' for the runway itself), golf greens and fairways, nature
walks on the islands in the river and the woods out back,
cross-country ski trails, trout ponds, etc.
