This beautiful building site is a pretty piece of land about five miles southwest of the town of San Luis as the crow flies. All of the photos were taken standing in front of the property in early September 2008! This piece of property sits right below Wild Horse Mesa on the valley floor. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in the northwest corner of the subdivision. It is tucked in right below the Wild Horse Mesa rim and it has very pretty views of the rim! There are cool hills from the south to the west and on up to the northwest! There is a gentle slope to the east. The property is covered with lots of tall sage and there were pretty flowers scattered all along the road. There was no one around - very private at this time! There are pretty groves of trees to the west and southwest and an old house on a hill to the south about a mile or so.
The view of the mesa is very pretty and there was a new home that was being built on the side of the mesa. Across the valley to the west are very cool hills sprinkled across the valley from the southwest to the northwest. There is a big hill to the south. On the other side of the mesa to the east is Sanchez Reservoir!
The graded roads in this area were in nice shape and the road is the road in front of the property. It was a bit overgrown from lack of use but very drivable. The property sits about a mile west of the paved highway. It is also the dedicated easement. You would need to contact the local power company to know how close power runs. I think this would be a great spot for someone seeking a rural place to build a home or a retreat or a great investment in Colorado land!
