This ten acres sits about 2 hours east of Reno, Nevada in the Buena Vista Valley in Pershing County. It is near the historical town of Unionville. In 1870 - 1880 Unionville produced over $3,000,000 in silver. It is about an hours drive to the bustling town of Winnemucca and the county seat of Lovelock sits just on the other side of the mountain range to the southwest. We visited this area in March of 2004 and the photos were taken only 1/2 of a mile north of the property! A few were also taken along old 400 also which sits to the west 2.5 miles. We have not had a chance to view the property itself but this should be an excellent representation of what it is like and you can actually see this land in the photos as well.
There are great mountain views with the East Range and the Stillwater Range to the east and the Humboldt Range to the west! There was plenty of snowcapped mountain peaks making for a beautiful setting. The area had tall sage brush and vegetation. There was a big farm about a mile to the north. I had a customer buy some land from me in this valley a few years ago and he told me my pictures didn't do justice as to how pretty this place gets when it snows!
To get down into this valley you would want to take the Mill City exit off of I80 as seen in the section map link above. It sits about 18 miles south of Mill City. Each small square on this map represents one square mile. Coyote Ranch, a beautiful ranch to watch every time I drive by, is about 5 - 6 miles northwest as the crow flies. When we drove by in the fall of 2008 they were out practicing roping as seen in some of the area photos below.
If you are looking for an affordable chunk of land to own for a getaway place with tons of privacy, than this area is for you! This is a very rural part of the valley with a few farms and homes sprinkled about but for the most part offers wide open views of the mountains! Just on the other side of the Humboldt Mountain Range to the northwest is Rye Patch Reservoir, a favorite spot for fisherman and water enthusiasts as you can see in the area photos below as well!
