Forbes Lake of the Ozarks is a beautiful 12,800 acres located in Benton and Camden Counties in Missouri. Consisting of over five miles of shoreline on the Lake of the Ozarks, it also has three interior lakes that average over 20 acres each, three private boat launches for property owners, a picnic area and an RV park. There is an abundance of wildlife there walking around as if they were the only ones there! Turkeys and deer roam about hiding in the trees and walking across the roads with no worries!
Located in Edwards near the town of Warsaw, it is centrally located to many nearby cities: 45 miles east of Osage Beach, 125 miles SE of Kansas City, 223 miles SW of St Louis, and 93 miles North of Springfield. It is heavily forested with streams flowing down to the lake. The varieties of trees are spectacular with oak, walnut, hickory, elm, and sycamore.
Over the river and through the woods.....that song kept playing in my head the day I looked at this property in Forbes Lake of the Ozarks and this piece is one of those reasons why! The trees are so big and beautiful and make a wonderful canopy over the road that winds it way through the trees! All of the photos were taken looking at this property and its surrounding views when we explored it in June of 2007.
This is such a pretty piece of land! This property is so beautiful, tucked away in the wood with no one around! The graveled road you see in the photos is the road that runs in front of this property and is the dedicated easements to this property as well. The property is covered in trees - lots of big tall trees with medium underbrush and smaller trees as well. The trees are so tall making this a beautiful lot! The lot is fairly flat along the road and then appears to have a roll down to the southwest. There is a beautiful intermittent stream across the street which is where we saw the deer enjoying the beautiful afternoon in the woods when we pulled up!
There are many different varieties of trees covering the property with their shiny leaves so pretty! We also saw scattered wildflowers. The floor of the woods lit up when the sun hit it - very pretty! There is a neighbor down the road about five lots to the northwest and that is where I believe the closest power is. You would need to verify with the local power company how close it runs and the cost of bringing it to the property but it looks like it is fairly close! I thought this was a beautiful setting and would make a great spot for a beautiful home or private getaway in the Ozarks! My notes say "5 stars for the deer, beautiful property and a gravel road as well"!!!
