There is wildlife conservation land aka BLM Land to the West along the border of Costilla and Alamosa County. BLM stands for Bureau of Land Management, which is land governed by the state. There are tons of extracurricular activities including the nearby Great Sand Dunes, hiking, biking, skiing to the south (in Taos County, NM up in Red River) and much more. The neighbor to the NE is off-grid with a clean little farm - friendly dogs, a giant Bull Mastiff! There was another neighbor about 3/4 of a mile to the SW with a kind of junked mobile on it. All of the photos were taken at the end of March 2013 of the property and the surrounding views. Zoning is Estate Residential and allows for homes, manufactured homes, and 14 consecutive day RV use per year. You can get a conditional use permit for one year if you are planning to build.
